Janathon Day 18 – club run

It was raining outside when I woke up this morning. This was a big relief as it meant that it wouldn’t be as freezing outside for tonight’s run like it has been lately (doing the Janathon means that I am either running or thinking about running or blogging about running from the moment I wake up until I go to bed!).

At about 7pm I drove to the rec to meet up with the other 15 or so BRJ runners. The run tonight was an effort session which I know I really should do more often to improve by speed. We ran as a group for a couple of miles until we got to a long but not particularly steep hill. As my legs were still aching from my treadmill sessions I did my own effort session at the top of the hill where I sprinted as fast as I could along the road, jogged back and then repeated this 6 times while the others sprinted up and down the hill. We then ran another couple of miles back to the rec and had a little sprint up the hill on the last little bit.

It felt good to be running outside again!

Distance: 4.47 miles

Time: 48:54

Ave Pace: 10:56
