Janathon Day 13 – the treadmill

Today was the day when I almost failed the Janathon. It was getting later and later and colder and colder and I really didn’t want to run outside by myself. I looked back at my blog and found that I found it a struggle last Friday too. I convinced myself that if I could just get a run in tonight then I would be able to get through the whole month.

It got to about 7:30pm and I decided that I would go to the gym and do the run on the treadmill. I have not been to the gym for at least a couple of years and I have always hated treadmills as I feel like I will fall off, but it seemed a better option than running through town on my own.

At 8pm I was in the gym with about 10 other sweaty people and I went straight for the treadmill. I ran on it for 15 minutes at which point I was really hot and was getting a bit bored, so I moved on to do some of the weights.

I left just before 9pm feeling really pleased that I had managed to run on the treadmill without falling off and that I had completed day 13 of the Janathon!

I was so hungry when I got home. Although it was late I cooked up a bowl of pasta and had a nice warm beer to reward myself for my Janathon efforts!

    Great pace for a late session – not sure I could stomach warm budweiser tho!
