Janathon Day 2

I was up early today as a group of us from the club were meeting at Hinchingbrooke Country Park for the bacon butty run. It was so cold out there – the coldest day of the year so far. There were a couple of route options – option A: the slower group doing a 5 mile route or option B: the faster group doing about 6 miles. As my calves are still aching from Saturday’s 10k I chose option C: a short run around the lake with my Dad. My Dad has only ever run once before so we are trying to stick to a beginner’s training plan. Today we ran for 1 minute, walked for 90 seconds and repeated it lots of times until we had gone round the lake and made it back to the car. He did really well – much better than I did when I first started running.

We then waited at the cafe for the rest of the group to get back from their runs before sitting down to a cooked breakfast and hot cup of coffee. A great start to the day!

Distance: 1.36 miles

Time: 20.03

Ave Pace: 14:45 (including walking and running)
