Huntingdon 10k practice run

Today was the day when I wondered why I go running.

Today was the day when I did a practice run of the Huntingdon 10k route

And today was the day when I seriously considered chucking away my running stuff.

The course was hard, the route was confusing and the run was horrible. I am very grateful to Sarah and tonyparkrunner for having the patience to stick with me (and ruining their own run) as I shuffled along for well over an hour. Otherwise I would have got very lost.

Felt very unhappy with the whole thing when I got home. Wasn’t sure if I would ever go running again. Definitely wasn’t sure if I would trust running with the club again.

Stats

Distance: 7.25 miles (that’s the longest 10k I have ever run!)

Time: 1:24:31

Pace: 11:39

7.2 miles… you’re inadvertedly training for your first half marathon! 🙂 Well done. You’ll sleep well tonight! 🙂
