Yesterday I did the Cambridge parkrun for the 16th time. There were 13 of us there from the BRJ running club, plus my niece and nephew who have started running it with us too, so it was a great turnout and good to chat to them afterwards.
I ran with my Ipod today and listened to audiofuel for the first time to see if it would help me to keep going. Although I did have 1 sneaky walking break (which I know I shouldn’t have done but I was sooooo hot) the music really helped me keep to a steady pace towards the end and gave me something to focus on.
I managed to overtake a few other runners so I could tell that I had improved a little bit. I couldn’t remember what my previous pb had been so I had to wait until I got home to check my emails to see how welll I had done…
Cambridge results for event #57. Your time was 32:04
Congratulations on completing your 16th parkrun and your 16th at Cambridge today. You finished in 174th place and were the 48th lady out of a field of 200 parkrunners and you came 9th in your age category SW25-29.
Congratulations on setting a new Personal Best by 00:16 seconds at Cambridge parkrun!
I was soooo happy with this when I got home but a little disappointed with myself today as I know I should be running faster than this. I have my first 10k coming up at the end of the month and I am a little worried as I don’t know how I will keep up the pace I did yesterday over twice the distance.
A quick question for you…. does anyone get migraines after they run? I have started to get migraines after doing the parkrun – it has happened a few times now, but never after evening runs. It comes on a couple of hours after I have done the 5k after I have had some lunch. Does anyone have any suggestions?
