Janathon Day 13

Today was my worst day of the Janathon. I really didn’t want to go outside into the pouring rain. I was feeling tired. My legs were feeling tired. It got later and later and at about half 8 in the evening I thought it is now or never, so changed into some old running gear, put on my Garmin and headed out the door.

I didn’t really mind the rain once I got going as it cooled me down a bit – I normally get really hot when I run. There were some massive puddles out there so my feet were soaking wet before I had even reached the end of my road. Tonight was the first time that I saw another runner on my route. He was quite speedy and looked like a serious (and grumpy) runner as he didn’t smile or say hello or anything as he overtook me.

I only did just over a mile today but it felt really hard – probably the hardest one of the Janathon so far. I know that there will be good runs and bad runs so hopefully tomorrow will be one of the good ones.

Well done for going…the guy might have been doing speed work so might not have been able to smile! I know that I can’t when I do it! You are doing very very well considering you didn’t run in the whole of December. Remember that £30! Can I suggest another short run tonight as you are doing the Parkrun tomorrow? Also, the weather is getting milder so you don’t need so many layers…I’m thinking of just a running vest for me for the Frostbite on Sun. Keep up the good work x
