I have an exam on Tuesday so today I thought I had better start revising for it. This meant that I was lounging around on the sofa all day, looking through all of my notes and trying to make it sink in. I briefly stopped to eat a big roast dinner before getting stuck into the books again.
I bought a new pair of running leggings (tights?) yesterday which I put on, an old running top and my trainers that were still caked with mud from yesterday’s run. I should go and clean them after writing this really. I only wanted to run up to the bridge and back again as my calves are really sore still – I am struggling to stretch them properly so I will chat to someone at the running club tomorrow and hopefully get some advice. I picked up the pace tonight and it felt much easier than when I did the same route a few days ago. I think that this is because it felt so much easier running on the road tonight compared with running through all of that mud yesterday at the parkrun. Alternatively it could be down to my new (lucky?) running tights.
There was hardly any traffic on the road tonight so there was no waiting around while trying to cross the road. There were a few people walking about, mostly heading out of town. I have to admit that I pulled a face at 1 person as she was walking with her friend and she didn’t let me pass on them on the path without going in the road (and there was a car coming at the time). I forgot that we were doing an out and back so we had to run back passed them again on the way home, so I did feel a little bad (lesson learned for future!).
Tomorrow I will be running with the club. They are starting another beginners course tomorrow which I have put my name down for, as I don’t feel like I am ready to run the 6 miles yet with the rest of the group. I have been told that I will be in the intermediate group which worries me a bit. In a way I am looking forward to it as it is a chance to get advice about my running (and my funny running style) and hopefully start picking up the pace a bit. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.
Distance: 1.33 miles
Average Pace: 10:50
Best Pace: 9:00
