Janathon Day 7

Yay – I have run every day for a whole week which means every day this year so far!!!!! Considering I almost didn’t make it out on day 1 cos of the festivities the night before I am pretty chuffed with myself. I might celebrate with a little bowl of ice-cream.

Today was the first time this year that I had to run in the rain. It was absolutely chucking it down outside so I wasn’t looking forward to it at all. I decided to just run up to the bridge and back as I didn’t want to be outside in the cold for longer than I had to be. There were massive puddles out there that were difficult to avoid – I hope my trainers dry out for tomorrow morning’s run.

Running every day this week has given me the chance to work out how to use my Garmin a bit better. If I leave it next to the window for a few minutes then it picks up the satellites so I don’t have to wait around outside getting cold. I have also (finally) found the pause setting on it. I bet it does loads of other stuff that I don’t know about – I have another 31 minus 7 days to play around with it a bit more.

I am planning on doing the Cambridge parkrun tomorrow. On Fb it says that the course will be really muddy (my poor trainers!) but as long as it doesn’t rain it shouldn’t be too bad. I usually finish it somewhere between 33 and 36 minutes which I know has to improve as it is only 5k, but I haven’t actually come in last place there yet. I am not too worried about what time I do it in tomorrow, as long as I don’t take any walking breaks. Lets hope that my legs work with me tomorrow instead of against me.

Great pace! Well done again and good luck for tomorrow. I think that aiming to run it without a walk break is a really good goal, remember it’s better to slow down than to walk if you can. Remember to keep stretching and ice if you need to x

Oh well done Sooozie, you’ve completed week one, that’s great work. It’s a great feeling to get that first week done.
