Janathon Day 6

I had a bit of  stressful day at work today so I was looking forward to having a run to clear my head. This was my first run on my own since the start of Janathon so I only planned to do a really short run up to the bridge and back. I went out almost as soon as I got home from work. I tried to set off at a good pace to make up for it only being a short run. I almost made it up to the bridge before turning round to head back. I had a sneaky breather as I waited to cross the road and then did a bit of a sprint up to my house.

My legs are aching all over – my shins, my ankles, my thighs and especially my calves. Thankfully though my knees seem to be ok – I had a knee injury before Christmas and I was worried about this causing me problems during the Janathon.

Am I really going to be able to keep this up for another 31 minus 6 days?

I sympathise with the leg soreness, my calves are the same. There’s no specific twinge or soreness, just a general ache.

I had a bit of a wobbler about whether I would last too…I’m new to regular runnng and have NEVER exercised even 5 days in a rown let alone 6…or 31. But i think the difference with this is that we have each other. And somewhere in the list of 236 participants there’ll be someone feeling rhe same as you – today that’s me!! Ache all over so tried a hot bath and massaged my legs with some Elemis muscle run stuff a friend gave me – will let you know how I get on… Well done for getting to Day – nearly a quarter of the way there woohooo!!
